Sexual Harassment Lawyers - FAQs

in Denver and Aurora, Colorado

  1. What is sexual harassment?

Sexual harassment is, generally speaking, unwelcome sexual advances or conduct in the workplace that creates an intimidating, hostile and/or offensive environment. Gender is irrelevant - sexual harassment can be female to male, male to female, male to male, female to female, group to individual, or individual to group.

  2. What should I do if I'm being sexually harassed?

Document everything! Write down the details of the interaction, including time, date, location, and all other relevant information. No matter what course of action you decide to take, it's very beneficial to have documentation of every incident. Make certain that you save any written materials, including photographs, e-mails and all other visual evidence.

You should make certain that you are familiar with all policies or procedures that are in place relative to sexual harassment or other work place problems, and any applicable deadlines that your employer has in place relating to the reporting of such problems.

  3. I'm being harassed by a supervisor. What should I do?

Many large companies have several avenues available for reporting sexual harassment. In order for our sexual harassment lawyer to be as effective as possible in representing you, it is helpful for you to provide us with this information at your free initial consultation, and let us know what if any steps you have taken relative to the policies or procedures that the employer may have in place.

In most sexual harassment claims, it's a good idea to have a lawyer on your side as early on as possible. We can advise you of your rights and help you determine the best course of action. If the issue isn't taken care of within your company, we can help you file the administrative complaint with the EEOC or CCRD, and if it's not resolved administratively, then we can prepare the matter for court. Sexual harassment is awful, and if you're being harassed, we'll help you put a stop to it.

  4. I've been accused of sexual harassment. Can you help in that case too?

Yes. If you've been accused of sexual harassment, contact us immediately. Sexual harassment can be very vague. Sometimes false claims are filed. However, regardless of the legitimacy of the claim, an employer is legally obligated to investigate the harassment and follow applicable law. This is where having a lawyer on your side can be helpful. We can help you avoid unjustified sanctions, and help you fight unwarranted claims of harassment.
